Volkswagen Grant Application Workshop for Refuse Vehicles Monday, September 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is preparing to open an additional round of funding under the Texas Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Program (TxVEMP) with a series of application workshops for projects to replace or repower refuse vehicles. The workshop for the San Antonio area will be held at AACOG's Al J. Notzon III Board Room on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., located at 8700 Tesoro Drive, San Antonio, TX 78217.

Any person or entity, public or private, who operates refuse vehicles with at least 51% of the annual mileage in the San Antonio Priority Area (Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, and Wilson Counties) is potentially eligible to apply for a grant.

Eligible vehicles may be replaced or repowered with a new all-electric, diesel, or alternative fuel vehicle or engine.

  • Eligible refuse vehicles must have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or greater and be model year 1992-2009.  Additional eligibility requirements will be defined when a Request for Grant Applications is released and the grant round opens.
