    The UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing Caring for the Caregiver program and the Alzheimer's Association San Antonio and South Texas Chapter would like you to join in for a welcoming gathering of community members living with dementia or memory loss and their loved ones. This is a safe place for people with memory loss and their caregivers to relax, make friends, and build support networks. Please come together to make new friendships, gain mutual support, exchange information, learn about valuable resources available to you! The Memory Cafe at Bob Ross Senior Center is the first Memory Cafe in San Antonio. Please join and let us know what activities you would like to take part in at these events. *Must be registered with Comprehensive Senior Centers, age 60+. Can register at the event for free. If accompanying a registered person, no need to register. These events are free and registration is not required. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

  1. Your Life - Your Diabetes - Your Choice Self-Management Workshop

    This interactive workshop is designed to assist individuals with Diabetes to take control of the stressors and hurdles faced daily while manage their chronic condition. Classes are highly participatory. Mutual support and success throughout the class series builds participants’ confidence in managing their health and maintaining active and fulfilling lives. Class participants receive a participant book as well as a relaxation CD to assist in their continued health upon completion of the class series. All participants must begin the class within the first 2 sessions (no later than May 24). Maximum benefit is obtained by attending at least 4 of the 6 sessions. Pre-registration is required. This ensures there are the minimum number of required participants needed to begin the class series.

    Notice is hereby given that the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) is seeking input on the Method of Distribution (MOD) of $4,152,165 for Housing (Local Buyout and Acquisition Program) and $1,530,000 for Infrastructure in Hurricane Harvey Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG DR) Funds. The AACOG impacted counties as designated from federal disaster declaration (DR 4332 Hurricane Harvey) are Comal, Guadalupe, and Karnes County. A Public Planning Meeting is scheduled for the following date, time and location: Monday, June 18, 2018, at 10:00 am at the Karnes County Courthouse Annex located at 210 W. Calvert, Karnes City, Texas, 78118.
