  1. Opportunity to Provide Comment on 2021-2022 TxCDBG Project Priorities for Alamo Region

    The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) will hold a public meeting to receive input from non-entitlement communities on TxCDBG Project Priorities for the Alamo Region on March 16, 2020, from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. at the AACOG offices, 8700 Tesoro Drive, Al J. Notzon III Board Room, Suite 100, San Antonio, Texas 78217. No action will be taken at this public meeting. Comments will be compiled and presented to the AACOG Board of Directors at the March 25, 2020, meeting prior to submitting to the Texas Department of Agriculture by April 1, 2020. The meeting will also be livestreamed starting at 10:00 am on March 16th: http://www.aacog.com/573/AACOG-Streaming-Video.   1. Apply Now for Texas Partners in Policymaking

    The deadline to apply for the 2020-2021 Texas Partners in Policymaking class is Friday, March 27th. This innovative statewide leadership development training program will help shape a new generation of leaders to work to improve the lives of people with DD in Texas. Program Structure Applicants who are accepted will receive the information and skills necessary to work with policymakers and advocate for important disability issues at the local, state, and federal levels. The program consists of eight two-day training sessions which will be held monthly from August 2020 to April 2021 (there will not be a session in December). Six sessions will be held in San Antonio and two in Austin. There is no cost to participate in the program, and authorized travel costs will be covered. Only Texas residents are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is 1 p.m. CT on Friday, March 27th, 2020.
