Alamo Area Growth Summit
San Antonio Business Journal will soon host the first annual 2016 Alamo Area Growth Summit. Join them as they discuss new research on the growing economic vitality of Texas' cities. The program built on studies conducted by the Center for Opportunity fellows on best cities for minorities, and those most likely to grow in the future. Simply put, Texas cities are becoming national leaders in urban development, and in ways likely to be accessible to large parts of the population.
San Antonio's research has shown that:
- San Antonio is proving to be the big Mexican-American success story.
- Long a laggard SA is achieving growth in demographic and economic terms in ways qual to other big Texas cities
- A diversifying economy is emerging that is not as dependent on military and tourism, but builds on it
- Young people now see SA as a opportunity city
