This is a responsible non-supervisory position. Duties include providing initial contact with all Weatherization Program(s) applicants; Conducting initial interviews with applicants for all programs under the AACOG Weatherization Program umbrella in order to determine eligibility and identify applicants' needs in order to link individuals to other appropriate agencies in the region; Maintaining a computer database with pertinent information on current and potential clients for the Department of Energy (DOE), Texas Department of Housing and Community affairs (TDHCA), Housing Trust Fund (HTF), and the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC); Providing applicants with information about housing programs; Providing information and referral services to inquirers; Performing secretarial and/or receptionist duties; Maintaining hard copy and electronic records, in accordance with funding agency standards and requirements and works to assure confidentiality of said records; Responsible for data entry of contractor invoices.
Develops, maintains, and uses an accurate, up-to-date resource file that contains information on available community resources, including detailed data on similar and/or related services that may address the needs of persons seeking assistance with Weatherization; Answers Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) incoming telephone lines and answers client inquiries and makes call backs when necessary; Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Desired Education/Job Experience: Associate's Degree in Social sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; At least four (4) years of customer service experience, or two (2) years of Administrative Assistance experience, preferably for a governmental employer involved in the provision of social service programs; Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Qualifications: Working knowledge of Financial Management System (FMS), Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word; Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
This position is a Pay Grade 8, with a starting hourly rate of $16.52. This is an non-exempt position. Open until Filled. Only electronic online applications will be accepted.
